Abounding Liberation

Kudos to our community member Christine W. who reminds us this month of our ability to overcome anything with her profound triumph over alcohol addiction.

“I was considered hopeless regarding my addiction by those trying to help me. It wasn’t until The Discovery Series that I found my way. It enabled me to finally regain my person dignity and power and get myself out of the vicious cycle of rehab. The first two Paths were the most impactful for me. The Path of Purpose that let me know I have a purpose in life, and the second Path put me back in my power. Together, these two paths proved to me that you don’t have to wait to get back on track in life.”

Christine is taking actions to give back to others by sharing The Discovery Series with rehab centers in the Southern California area. Christine, your triumph has lifted the entire community and stands as testament to the power we all possess to liberate ourselves from any burden.

Beyond Persistent

bp_articleOur community was rocked this month by ultra-athlete David Goggins. Goggins shared his astonishing story and extraordinary wisdom with our community on the Saturday morning Beyond Discovery call hosted by LifePath co-founder Patrick Combs. During the one hour interview, Goggins proved himself to be every bit the hero that he was featured as on December’s Runners World magazine cover. This extraordinary athlete, an elite ultra-Marathoner, Navy Seal and philanthropic role model unleashed a life changing perspective for all those on the call regarding persistency and consistency, purpose and charity.

Despite an extreme dislike of the enormous amount of running that he accomplishes daily (last year he totaled an equivalent of 21 miles per day!), Goggins races to raise money in honor of the military. He has raised nearly $300,000 for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and last year helped send more than 220 kids to college. When asked what gets him out of the bed at 3 a.m. for a 20 mile run before work on the days he doesn’t feel like it, Goggins replied, “That’s everyday! But you have to have goals large enough and a purpose great enough to motivate you to do things you don’t always want to do! There is no success in life of any significance without big goals and a great purpose.”

Goggins will be competing in the Hurt 100 Jan 17. He ran the Hurt 100 previously on broken feet (Broken metatarsal bones wrapped in compression tape, yes-way!) and succeeded to become the 26th person to finish the grueling race. Next up for Goggins is the Race Across America, the world’s toughest bicycle race. LifePath Unlimited is seeking to sponsor Goggins to assist in his charitable efforts. Go David Goggins – LPU is cheering you on!

Standing Cool

On Martin Luther King Jr. day, co-founder Joe Neid shared his personal life-changing experience with Dr. King on the Fresh Start Call. Dr. King was the youngest person in the history of world to win the Nobel Peace Prize. In 1966, Joe Neid, as a little boy, got to see Dr. King march in Chicago’s Marquette Park because Joe’s mother was passionate about MLK and the cause of equality for all. Joe recalled that his mother not only desired to participate in Dr. King’s acts of civil disobedience but also made a lasting impression on young Joe with often repeated convictions such as, “Love is the only answer.”

At the Martin Luther King Jr. march in the Chicago park, Joe witnessed something that continues to shape his life to this day. “We stood up on a hill, and I remember seeing Dr. King marching peacefully for a message that was so pure and clean. And he was surrounded by a mob throwing things. I saw Martin Luther King Jr. get hit by a brick and he just continued on. The mob got very violent. I remember my mother crying and my father saying “Let’s get out of here before all hell breaks loose.”People were disbursing everywhere. The hatred and the injustice was blinding to me. It was the most frightening thing I’d ever seen and it lives with me to this day. But most of all I remember that Martin Luther King Jr. just moved on in silence, kept at his mission and never lost his cool. I strive for the same standard of behavior now when faced with adversity.”

Joe revealed his favorite Martin Luther King Jr. quote to be, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands during moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands during times of challenge and controversy.”

To the Future!

Kudos to Australian LifePath Unlimited community member Michael Lauria who posted his success story to a LifePath site this month:

“Hi All, I wanted to update you all on something… I have just finished my 56th day of Discovery and these last 56 days have been inspiring and rewarding for me to say the very least. I have found parts of myself I didn’t even know existed and realized that without those parts I had been running on less than 12 cylinders. The aspects I already knew about myself, whether I had already judged them to be positive or negative have been uplifted to a level I had previously not thought possible. Now I view myself as perfect in every way and capable of immense greatness I never thought was possible.

“I now walk the planet with a renewed sense of self, an understanding of my passions and life goals and a greater appreciation of my own true purpose. What I wanted prior to Discovery to achieve, now seems miniscule compared to what I now know I am capable of.

“Before Discovery, I would have moaned and complained about how hard life has been over the past couple of years but now, since finishing, I realize that I am eternally grateful for the lessons I have come away with and the awesome power it has given me. We are all awesome entities capable of awesome things and if Discovery has taught me anything it has been this and also that there is much more to be grateful for in this life than not.

“I feel such a wonderful sense of accomplishment for what I have achieved these past 56 days. If all of us had the magnificent tool Discovery Series at our fingertips, the world would be a much more awesome and wonderful place than it already is.

“It has been a wonderful pleasure for me to share this with you all and I look forward to sharing more as time goes on… TO THE FUTURE!”
